acupuncture

Acupuncture treatments are allotted 1 hour (90 minutes for initial appointments) from the beginning of your scheduled appointment. Upon arrival, please take a seat in the waiting area and you will be taken to the treatment room. For the clinic to provides timely treatments for patients, late arrival will shorten your own treatment time.

If you are ever uncomfortable during your treatment either from position or from the acupuncture treatment please tell your practitioner immediately so they may rectify the situation to make you more comfortable. You have the ability at any time during your treatment to ask for a needle to be removed or adjusted to make you more comfortable.

Outside of the most extreme of situations it is never acceptable for a client to remove their own acupuncture needles.

While acupuncture is considered save treatment, minor side-effects such as bleeding and bruising are common. Contact dermatitis is uncommon that may occur if a patient reacts to the metals in the needles or the silicon coating. Serious adverse events - including pneumothorax or damage of internal organs or arteries - are very rare and commonly avoided by adequately trained practitioners.

Chinese herbs

A suitable Chinese herbal medicine formula may be prescribed. The acupuncture haven is using a third party to provide the medicine via mail. Why Chinese herbal medicine is generally considered safe, allergic reactions  and adverse events such as nausea or initial worsening of symptoms may occur. If you are concerned, please contact the clinic.

cancellation policy

Cancellations can be made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time without charge. Late cancellations do not allow the acupuncture haven to offer your appointment slot to another patient and will incur 50% cancellation fee. No-shows will lead to 100% charge of treatment fee.
